St Patrick's Day Recap

I don't have a ton of time today to blog, but I figured I would share our St. Patty's Day celebration like any good Chicagoan would!

If you didn't know....St. Patrick's Day is a BIG deal around here!  There is a HUGE parade, they dye the Chicago river green, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone NOT wearing green or shamrocks here.

Please forgive the picture quality...my camera was left off the charger, so I needed to use my iPhone.
None of us are Irish....Actually my Mom was born is Scotland, and so was St. Patrick!
Montalvo crew in their St. Patty's green.

It just isn't St. Pat's without a good Irish beer.

Green River is ESSENTIAL to St. Patrick's Day!  Made in Chicago!

Don't forget the corned beef and cabbage.

Homemade Irish Soda bread.  Thanks for the recipe Nicki!  <3

Must be served with Rye bread and horseradish.

Lexi made the placemats with the stickers!

My thrift and dollar store center piece.  Kinda kitschy but I like it!

I had to include a picture of my handsome men, so you could see how BIG they are getting!!  I think Ian is just about the same height as his Dad now, he is 12 and in the 6th grade!  Doug passed up his Dad a LONG while ago now, and is currently 6ft at 15!  Good thing they LOVE football huh?

Blessings! <3 Paula

  1. We live in the Chicago area also, but I never heard of Green River pop, although I am not a pop drinker. My husband will usually put green food coloring in a beer and we also always have corn beef and cabage. I like all the sides you serve with the meal.
